FTC Finds New FCC Regulations Inconsistent for Consumer Protection – An independent agency of the United States government tasked with consumer protection, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently criticized the recent privacy ruling of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) because of its distance from the core principles of the overall organizational multi-year strategic plan. The recent ruling, which holds different privacy standards for broadband providers and general users, simply “makes no sense” to the FTC given how this approach is not optimal for consumer protection. UberMedia Launches “Optimal GeoSpace” Tracking – By analyzing “billions of high-quality location data points over a period of time” and then algorithmically adjusting the data points based on actual behavior, UberMedia has developed “Optimal GeoSpaces,” which illustrate the optimal shopping area for each location analyzed.
